Writing Mentorship Program

Ready to write a book?

  • Are you ready to write that book you've been dreaming of but have no idea where to start?

  • Do you have an awesome story idea but no clue how to develop it into a full-blow novel?

  • Have you tried writing before but always seem to get stuck at a certain point and give up too early?

Trust me, I've been there too! Before I wrote my debut novel, I had absolutely no idea what it takes to actually write a book. In my mind it was simple enough: You have a great idea, you write it on a google doc, and you send it off to publishers who send you back a check with lots of zeroes. In practice, things were not quite so simple... Although, imagine how awesome that would have been!

In reality, writing a book takes GRIT. It takes persistence and research and if you start without a solid plan, a lot of painful re-writing. It is an exercise in patience. The truth is, writing a book requires a commitment to continuous learning that not everyone is willing to make. But if you're willing to put in the work, I'm here to help with the rest.

You've Got This!

Here's the good news: Everything you need to write an amazing book is squarely within your reach!

In other words, you can do this!

What you need is to develop the correct mindset and figure out a sustainable approach to developing and honing your writing practice, and that's something I can help with.

What could you accomplish if you had the right mindset, daily accountability, and personalized feedback?

What's Included?

  • 6 hour-long one-on-one mentoring calls to go over feedback, evaluate your progress, and plan next steps. Depending on where you are in the book writing process, we can dive into your plot structure, character arcs, writing style, story ideas, writing goals, mindset, author platform, and so much more!

  • A personalized writing plan. We'll come up with a writing schedule that fits your schedule and goals, and create a system to keep you accountable through check-ins, deadlines, reminders, and prompts.

  • Two rounds of FREE developmental edits. Once you have written your "draft 0," I will do a round of developmental edits and provide actionable feedback on the pacing, structure, characters, and any big-picture issues in your story. Then, after you go through another few rounds of self-edit, I will go over it again and provide updated recommendations and comments. My feedback will be provided in an editorial letter as well as in-line comments throughout the manuscript.

  • Text access to me for questions. Have anything to ask or say that can't wait until our next scheduled check-in? No problem! You'll have access to me through text and I welcome any question no matter how big or small!

  • Bonus # 1: You get 50% off Line & Copy edits from me if you purchase the service within 6 months of having completed the mentorship program.

  • Bonus # 2: You'll get FREE access to all guides and courses that I create in the future.

What Is a Writing Mentorship?

A writing mentorship, the way I offer it, is a coaching program designed for newer or aspiring authors seeking professional guidance on their writing journey. It is a way to get consistent personalized feedback that is both high-quality and coming form someone who knows and understands your book as well as you do.

As a mentor, my aim is to guide you and support you and your writing career, however you decide. If what you're looking for is help creating an author platform, we can certainly build that into the program at no additional cost to you! The mentorship is meant to be highly customizable to fit your particular needs and goals.

Program Overview

Duration

The mentorship program is designed to take you from story idea to finished novel in six months. Nonetheless, not everyone has the same amount of time to work on their writing projects. Therefore, this is a go-at-you-own-pace type of program. We will set realistic timelines based on your schedule and adapt the program to fit your needs.

Content

The program consists of 10 sessions, each of which correlates to a key step in my writing guide. Each session includes a check-in, a writing exercise to push your book forward, and a guide with FAQs and writing tips. Additionally, you get free developmental editing with the program and access to me through text for any questions that come up in between calls.

Price

There's two options for how you can pay for the program. You can pay up-front for the whole mentorship and then take as long as you need to complete the program, which costs $4,500 (payment plans are available upon request), or you can pay on a per-month basis, which costs $800/mo. If you choose to go month-to-month you are entitled to two sessions per month and you can choose to skip any that you don't feel would add value to your book (e.g. if you already have a first draft, we can skip to session 6 - the first editing round).

2

What if I can't finish the book in 6 months?

That's not an issue. We will create a schedule based on your bandwidth and can always adjust it if anything changes. The program will end once you have finished writing your second draft and have a solid plan for next steps.

What if I don't know what I need help with?

That's okay! I'll help you figure out what your wiring goals are and we'll come up with a plan on how to accomplish them. We'll go over your expectations for the mentorship and make sure we are on the same page about what you will accomplish in the duration of the program.

3

What's difference between the paying in monthly instalments vs going month-to-month?

If you choose to go through with the full mentorship program, you'll only pay $750 per month, but you are committing to paying for the full 6 moths - just one at a time.

If you don't want to commit to the full mentorship program and would rather test it out by going month-to-month, you pay $800 per month and are entitled to one coaching call per month. You'll still get a deadlines, accountability, and text access to me. As for the free developmental editing rounds, you get the first after purchasing two months of mentorship and the second after purchasing four.
